巴拿巴葉萃取物(Banaba leaves extract)

義大利帕維亞大學於2020年的臨床研究,發現服用含有巴拿巴葉(Banaba)、小蘗鹼(Berberine)、薑黃素(Curcumin)、肌醇(Inositol)及吡啶甲酸鉻(Chromium Picolinate)等成份的保健營養食品,有助於改善血糖異常患者的空腹血糖值和餐後血糖,總膽固醇(total cholesterol, TC)及三酸甘油脂值(triglycerides, Tg),並有助於改善血糖異常患者的炎症狀態(Derosa et al., 2020)

根據日本鈴鹿醫科大學研究指出,巴拿巴葉萃取物的降血糖作用歸因於科羅索酸 (corosolic acid) 和鞣花單寧(ellagitannins)具有抗糖尿病和抗肥胖作用。科羅索酸具有抗高血脂和抗氧化活性,有益於增強細胞對葡萄糖的攝取,從而降低血糖水平。此外,科羅索酸可降低血清膽固醇和三酸甘油脂(Miura et al., 2012)。
